Exciting News, Our employer, the Kitch Law Firm, recently turned 40 and in celebration has announced the Kitch 40K challenge.
The premise is simple:
The premise is simple:
- $40,000 divided equally among 40 volunteer teams.
- Each team may use their $1K as seed money for the charity of their choice.
- This is a competition to raise as much money as possible by October 1, 2009.
- The winning team will receive as much as $5K bonus for the charity at the end of the competition.
Our team, "Raise the Roof", has selected Jerusalmen Temple of Worship which is a Detroit ministry dedicated solely to the mentally ill and homeless (you can find out more about them at http://www.jtow.org/)
While their congregation has little means to support the church, and its needs are many, their greatest need currently is for a new roof. Initial bids to build a new, flat roof like they currently have, come in at $40,000. Therefore we have set this $40,000 amount as our goal to raise by September 2009.
Keep tabs on this blog for updates on fundraising efforts. Thank you and God Bless.
