New SpringWidget

eBay Fundraiser

Spring Cleaning? Summer Cleaning? Winter Cleaning? Whatever the season, whatever the occasion, use those unwanted household items to benefit the Jerusalem Temple of Worship!

How does it work:

Bring in those unwanted items to Main Street Auctions during the following dates and times and let them know the gift is for the JTOW fundraiser:

June 27, July 25, or August 29.

Can't make it to one of Main Street Auction's two locations? Bring your item to Tim or Nate's office (24th floor) and they will take the item(s) to Main Street Auctions.

All proceeds from the auctions will go to the Jerusalem Temple of Worship. Some ideas of items in demand include: Consumer Electronics, video games, cameras, golf clubs, bikes, hockey equipment, desirable china and flatware, designer clothing, purses and jewlery.

Main Street Auctions is an independent eBay Sellers Broker and fundraising partner of JTOW. All donations are tax deductible and you will be provided with a form to fill out when you make your donation.

Have question? Post a comment or send email to Tim or Nate. Thanks again for all of your support.

Brown Bag Banquet

Brown Bag Banquet
Sunday September 13, 2009
at Jerusalem Temple of Worship
16051 Grand River Avenue
What can the money saved on one brown bag lunch do? These challenging economic times have forced us all to think of ways to save money and cut costs. One simple way is to pack a lunch each day and use the money saved from going out on other, more important things.
The Raise the Roof team has committed to brown bagging at least one lunch a week for the next 4 months. We are inviting you to do the same with the enclosed brown bag.
The idea is to set aside whatever you can, be it $5 or $5000, in the brown bag provided until Sunday, September 13, 2009. On that day, you are invited to bring whatever you have set aside to Jerusalem Temple of Worship for a buffet style banquet with the amazing congregation of this unique church.
Our goal is to raise a great roof for this church and so we hope you will join us in this simple six month effort.

Together We Can Get it Done

Exciting News, Our employer, the Kitch Law Firm, recently turned 40 and in celebration has announced the Kitch 40K challenge.

The premise is simple:

  • $40,000 divided equally among 40 volunteer teams.

  • Each team may use their $1K as seed money for the charity of their choice.

  • This is a competition to raise as much money as possible by October 1, 2009.

  • The winning team will receive as much as $5K bonus for the charity at the end of the competition.

Our team, "Raise the Roof", has selected Jerusalmen Temple of Worship which is a Detroit ministry dedicated solely to the mentally ill and homeless (you can find out more about them at http://www.jtow.org/)

While their congregation has little means to support the church, and its needs are many, their greatest need currently is for a new roof. Initial bids to build a new, flat roof like they currently have, come in at $40,000. Therefore we have set this $40,000 amount as our goal to raise by September 2009.

Keep tabs on this blog for updates on fundraising efforts. Thank you and God Bless.
